A pioneer among women in the finance industry with an exemplary 31-year career at John Hancock, Beryl Bunker supported Pine Street in many ways as a generous donor, volunteer and advisor throughout her long affiliation with us.
As highlighted at her memorial service in August 2010, she was an early and enthusiastic advocate for planned giving in support of many charitable organizations, with a special interest in programs for women and educational institutions.
At Pine Street, she was a champion of the Women's Inn and job training programs. As a result of her life's work and convictions, the vehicles for Beryl's generosity spanned outright giving, charitable gift annuities and benefits accrued from her time at John Hancock.
Many individuals, and especially women, at Pine Street and elsewhere, will thrive thanks to Beryl Bunker's vision and philanthropy, which is defined as a love of humankind. We will always be grateful for her vision and help.
